Christ Church was built in the 1840s in the Early English style. Then, Quarry Bank was part of the parish of Brierley Hill created in 1842 from the much larger parish of St. Mary's Kingswinford. The formation of the parish of Quarry Bank was announced in 1844 with Christ church being consecrated in March 1847. The building as it is today is the result of extensions and embellishments carried out in 1899/1900, final alterations were made by The Revd. G Larkin in the mid 20th century with the removal of the south gallery to make a side chapel. Christ Church has always been deeply rooted in the local community.
